~SPHO at The Equine Affaire~

SPHO members from three New England states joined together to proudly represent the American Standardbred. Three horses participated in the Standardbred Demonstration and displayed their talents under saddle and as pleasure driving horses. SPHO-MA brought Canvasback Scene, also known as " George" to C Barn as a representative of the breed. He spent four days taking part in demonstrations and clinics.

A booth at the Stroh Building displayed a constellation of photos of Standardbreds involved in a variety of disciplines. Photos of the historic " Greyhound " who raced in Agawam , to the modern day racehorse were displayed. The majority of the photos represented the Standardbred as a pleasure horse after racing. Dressage, foxhunting, three day eventing, pleasure driving, English and Western pleasure are only a few of the disciplines enjoyed by Standardbred owners.

We thank the many visitors who took time to view the booth and share their stories with our volunteers.

A special thanks to the organizers of the breed demonstration, the booth, and the many volunteers from

SPHO-MA, SPHO-ME and SPHO-NH.

Our joint effort to promote the Standardbred, truly made this a special event. We hope to see you all next year!
