IRAK M UP, aka “Molly”

Molly is a 16+h, dark, beautiful, atypical Standardbred, who looks and acts more like a big-boned Irish Thoroughbred. New Zealand bred; D.O. B. 11/5/01. She has been raced lightly, but didn’t enjoy it. She certainly LO VES attention!! She’s great for the farrier, the vet, and anyone else that comes into the barn. She's been all over, so trailers and handles very well. Molly would make a perfect 4-H or Pony Club project, with an adoring teenager to braid her mane and spoil her to pieces. She is green under saddle, but very willing, with a big, forward stride. She also loves pleasure driving.
Molly is good turned out with others, mares and geldings, and needs to go to a home where she will have a companion, and where she will get a lot of personal attention and exceptional care. Asking $2500, or best reasonable offer to the right home.

Child friendly older Standardbred horse (Winchendon, MA)

Glory is 25 years young and is quite fit for her age except for an arthritic Left knee. Supplements and light exercise could help.  This lovely, smaller size 14.2 hh bay Standardbred mare needs a home where she can peacefully graze. She is a retired brood mare – her given name is Miss Glory Days. She came to MA from a South Carolina race farm in July 2009, after her owner passed away.

Limited riding, but perfect to give even little children rides on. She is very friendly with children. One of the photos above shows Glory playing with the kids in the little wading pool. She put her nose in the water and splashed about, which made the kids laugh. So she did it a bunch more times.

She has been ridden bareback this last year. Will go at a walk, resists anything faster. Yet, she runs and kicks up her heels at play with no rider. Good manners. Stands for grooming, tacking, mounting, and farrier.  Presently barefoot. Coggins done July 2009
Never kicked. Great around people of all ages. No cribbing. Good stall manners, although presently kept in a run in with attached paddock. She loves treats of apples and alfalfa cubes. Presently on 14 % pellets with supplemental hays. Loves pasture. If you may have a home for Miss Glory Days - please email Susan at oldwomaninshoe@charter.net

Winning Jilco has returned from Saddle Up University in Greenfield, New Hampshire.  Saddle Up University donated 30 days of saddle training to her and Jilco is doing great!   She is now going
out on trail rides in company and has crossed bridges and water. She is looking for her own special person to keep her going under saddle.
She is sound, healthy, athletic and very easy to handle.   An
absolute love bug with people.
Jilco is available for adoption through New England Equine Rescues.
Her adoption fee is $500 and is subject to increase as miles and
training are completed.   A good home is most important.
Jilco is featured  on Saddle Up University's and NEER's  face book pages for anyone wanting to follow her progress and to see updated
pictures of her under saddle.    Trainer Denise Hopkins said she is
going to make someone a really nice horse.  : )
Please email rgehl@worldpath.net for more information.
